Mission Statement.

To provide all University of Illinois students interested in marketing with the opportunity to develop themselves professionally, achieve personal growth, and foster relationships with a diverse group of business professionals and fellow students, while learning about marketing’s essential role in a dynamic business environment.

To be a leading source of the advancement of marketing knowledge while inspiring a passion for marketing within the University of Illinois community and beyond.

 

What We Do.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign chapter consists of a Consulting and Marketing Committee. Within each committee our members will learn specialized skills to apply to their future internships and careers. Our members consult for businesses, develop websites, create social media content, analyze data, and progressively advance AMA to its fullest potential. As an academic organization, it is important we provide our members with a valuable network. We bring in professional speakers, corporate companies, and local businesses to speak about their marketing experiences, businesses, and job opportunities. Occasionally, we attend national conferences to network with other chapters and create everlasting bonds and learn more about the industry.  

Our History.

The American Marketing Association was established at the University of Illinois in 1948, making it the first collegiate AMA chapter in the nation. With over 100 members, AMA is one of the University’s largest registered student organizations and students of all majors are welcome to join. AMA at Illinois strives to provide its members with comprehensive exposure to all aspects of marketing and the organization hosts a variety of professional, social, and philanthropic events throughout the year.

 

In recent years, AMA has received the “Distinguished Chapter Award” from the International AMA office for ranking within the top 8 out of 145 collegiate chapters across the United States and Canada.

National AMA.

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is one of the largest marketing associations in the world, with over 30,000 members who work, teach and study in the field. By becoming a member, you gain access to a vast body of marketing knowledge, high-quality training programs, the latest tools and tactics, exposure to leading-edge thinking, and opportunities to interact with marketing peers around the world.

We accept students from all majors! This is the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Chapter.

  2. Turn in your $15 semester dues on Venmo (@AMA-Illinois) or PayPal (finance@illinoisama.org). If cash, please include a note with your first and last name. If you are paying via Venmo, please include "First Name, Last Name AMA Dues"

  3. Send a screenshot of your payment to membership@illinoisama.org

  4. Join AMA on Gies Groups: https://giesgroups.illinois.edu/AMA/club_signup

  5. Attend all AMA events and meetings. 

  6. Optional: Complete the National AMA student membership form here.
